Waiting for Christmas
Momo is eagerly waiting for Christmas to arrive.
He has been trying to be a good boy, but he is just a kitten and sometimes curiosity just gets the best of him.
So he decided " He will just stay close to the presents that are for the family and when Santa pause come, he will tell him how hard it is to be a good kitty."

Sadie Dosen't Want to Talk About It.
Something happened last night,
Somebody raided the garbage last night.
Sadie said " She didn't know who did it !"
She said " She has no idea who could have done such a thing because she wouldn't do something like that."
Sadie also has a sensitive stomach and the evidence was left in her kennel this morning.
But when we asked her again Who was in the trash can her eyes began to get shifty and she said " There was this little elf in my kennel last night, that did the deed..... Y ah that sounds good "

How to Use a Box
Momo feels because he is a cat "He should show the humans how to properly use a shoe box ."
" First you have to put your paw in the box to make sure it's not occupied."
(" If somebody is already in the box make sure you chase them out.")
" You also have to inspect the box to make sure the corners are nice and square."
(" If the corners aren't at a 90 degree angle, you can pat at them with your paw to see if you can straighten them.")
" Have a look around to see if the coast is clear."
" Then tuck your nose in the corner, and your ready for a nap"
( " You have to remember, if you let a human take your box they will use it to put stuff in or throw it a way.")

A Cold Winter Saturday
It was cold on Saturday and my parents live on the top of a mountain which made it a little colder. But that didn't stop Sadie and Jack from playing.
Since it is a little colder there they have a little more snow too.
Sadie doesn't usually like the snow much, but since this year we made her coat and it fits her better, she wants to play in the snow. So Sadie and Jack went outside to romp and play in the snow.
Although I have to admit I never cared much for the cold, but it is nice to see Sadie and Jack have some fun.

Feeding Sadie Part Three
If you remember a little while ago we did a couple of posts about how hard it is to get Sadie to eat. We had some great suggestions everything from baby food to yogurt and a grain free diet to a raw diet.
We tried yogurt and she wouldn't touch it and I heard baby food isn't good for dogs because it has onion power in it.
We did a lot of reading about raw diets, and we had some concerns about bacteria and stuff and decided that it wasn't for us.
People who feed their animals a raw diet really like it though, and say that there has been a lot of improvement in their animals .
We did some reading on the grain free diet to and decided that was the diet for Sadie.
A lot of dogs that have food allergies eat a grain free diet.
A lot of dogs tend to gain weight on food filled with grains.
Grain free food uses fruits and vegetables in place of grains.
dogs are more energetic on a grain free diet.
We decided to try Taste of the Wild, but Sadie likes Evo better so that is what she is eating.
We mix a little dry food with moist food.
( our vet says that " A dog should have some dry food because it is better for their teeth.)
Sadie has been eating a mostly grain free diet for a few weeks now.
She has lost some weight, and has a lot more energy.
Momo has been eating some grain free moist kitten and cat food to, he likes Evo too.
Maxx on the other hand is very set in her ways and prefers to eat her old cat food.
The only problem is that in our area the pet stores that do have it only seem to carry one flavor of it and it is recommended that you feed all three of the flavors, so that your animal gets a more balanced diet.
Sadie doesn't like eating the same food all the time either, so we may have to order it online or at a pet store.

The Return of Wiener Claus
We always know what time of year it is when Sadie's old friend Wiener Claus returns.
Sadie has been so excited because Wiener Claus is back because that means Christmas is near.
Wiener Claus always shows up at our house before Christmas and Santa Paws.
He comes to play with Sadie sometime after Thanksgiving to help her get ready for the arrival of Santa Paws.
If you look at the picture, you can see Momo's foot.
Sadie has been telling him all about Wiener Claus and how he shows up every year.
Sadie also told Momo " That Winer Claus tells Santa Paws if he takes her toys." so Momo has been playing with is own toy and only plays with Sadie's toy when he thinks Wiener Claus isn't looking .
Although Wiener Claus looks different every year, Sadie always knows who he is and looks forward to his arrival.

Sadie's New Coat
Sadie got a new coat.
I know other dogs have a hard time finding coats and sweater that fit just right, but when you are a dachshund its harder to find a coat that is just right.
After not being able to find a coat that Sadie and I both like and fit, her grandma and I decided to make her one.
Although I was never a Suzy Home Maker, we found making Sadie's coat fun and challenging.
We made her coat with two layers of fleece and a little hood to keep her ears warm.
( Sadie is always cold)
Sadie couldn't wait to try out her new coat, and it was good that we got it done with it when we did because we had snow and had to cut our visit at my parent's house short yesterday.
But Sadie tried it out when we got home while her dad shoveled an area in the back yard, so she would have a place to what she refers to take a squeege without getting snow on her bum.
Sadie was so warm in her new coat that she even jumped in the snow pile.
Sadie isn't usually a big fan of snow, so she wanted to pass on one of her secret snow tips " Before you go outside in the snow have your mom or dad put some Pam or some vegetable shortening on the pads of your feet, because it helps keep the snow from sticking between your toes and helps to insulate against the cold."

Our Chips
A little while ago our friend Frankie asked " If the little tag that Momo wears on his collar is a microchip identification tag?"
Yep, thats what it is.
You know already that Momo lived at our local ASPCA before he came to live with us and before he could come home he had to get his man cat surgery and get his microchip put in.
Sadie has one too, when she was a pup she had what she refers to as "her hoo hoo ectomy" and she also got a chip.
But Sadie's chip has migrated and it is no longer on her back anymore.
The migration of microchips doesn't happen very often, so we kinda think of it as another way to identify Sadie if she ever gets lost and can't find her way home.
Along with Sadie's micro chip she also has a lifetime license.
Sadie says " She can drive a car with her license!" so we hide the car keys from her.
But our state offers a lifetime dog license if your dog is chipped or has an identification tattoo and Sadie said " A tattoo would interfere with her natural beauty.", so we opted for the microchip.
The only one in the house that is not microchipped is Maxx.
Maxx is middle aged and not as active as the other two and very set in her ways, which doesn't include going outside.
In fact Maxx spends most of her time up stairs, so there isn't much of a chance for her to get lost anyway.
