Sadie got a manicure.
I know every dog does this, but Sadie absolutely doesn't like this.
You see, I had been attempting to do her nails myself.
I got one of those Pedi Paws thing, which is a good idea, (if the animal lets you use it) because when the nail is cut it could chip or slit, which could hurt.
But as I was doing her nails with the Pedi Paw, she give me such a hard time.
I would tell her that, I'm a licensed Hair stylist and even that I was certified by the O.P.I company to give humans manicures, but she didn't care.
So the other day we took her to get her nails done.
I guess we kinda tricked her, we took her to one of those big chain pet stores that have groomers that work there in the store. ( she tough we were there to buy a toy)
The groomer who did her nails even used a dremmel tool to do her nails.
Which when used by a manicurist is just a powered nail file.( just like the Pedi Paw)
Needless to say she wasn't a happy pup, but she got over it quick, she gave the groomer a big lick before we left, and got some new treats on the way out.

ReplyDeleteI feel your pain - one of our corgis argues with us the whole time we try to "play beauty parlor" with her and trim her nails. I tell her she's such a drama queen! lol :)

Sadie what a gal has to go through to be beautiful!!! It is just horrible. Mom and Dad do my nails....but as you see I said Mom and Dad it takes two to hold down dy-no-mite!!! Actually I don't mind it too much...what I don't like is being confined and held. Dad does the holding part and often whispers in my ear. Mom said to tell you she could never do Toto's nails either. She said his nails were much much thicker than mine and she was afraid she'd hurt him.

Maggie won't let me touch her feet, and so she just chews her nails :-(
ReplyDeleteI don't like nail trims either. But I applaud you for figuring out another way to get a treat! You are one smart Cookie, Sadie! I'm sorry I'm so behind on commenting. I have really been trying to catch up but it seems once you get behind it is impossible. Mom reads your blog at work every day but can't comment lest she get in trouble.
